Los medos- de la misma raza que los persas, con quienes estos compartieron sus conquistas en el Imperio, mejor conocida como una tribu persa del oeste de Tracia- tenían indumentaria similar pero sus tocados eran diferentes, pudiendo tratarse bien de gorros redondos rematados con coronas planas o de capucha. Seguramente cada tocado identifique el estatus de la persona, y la corona este adornada con pedreria y de colores vivos.

Xerxes I, Old Persian Khshayarsha, byname Xerxes the Great   (born c. 519 bce—died 465, Persepolis, Iran), Persian king (486–465 bce), the son and successor of Darius I. He is best known for his massive invasion of Greece from across the Hellespont (480 bce), a campaign marked by the battles of Thermopylae, Salamis, and Plataea.
