Five-inch long Clovis preform and knife form with a burin tip from Colorado. This one already has the basal edge ground, making me believe they had this hafted onto a handle. Clovis knappers pursued the large, wide and shallow flakes as you can see on this artifact. Large over-the-face or overshot flakes served two purposes; it thinned the biface efficiently and provided large flakes they could use for other tools. Waste not, want not.
