Thorens TD160 plinth Yellowheart with Black Walnut inlay - Plinth dimensions are 80mm high and 28mm thick. I’ve raised the height a little, so I could fit in a 12mm MDF base plate. The new plinth is heavy, dense and should improve sound (dampen vibration), as well as being a significant aesthetic improvement over the stock wood. Finished it with 3 layers Barend Palm boat oil and 1 layer Barend Palm yacht varnish.
