Iaido 居合道 - modern Japanese martial art associated with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard.
Ikyo (I believe) into floor control. Maybe with a bit of Sankyo for good measure (always a favourite).
Ō-Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) - The Founder of Aikido. "The real birth of Aikido came as the result of three instances of spiritual awakening that Ueshiba experienced. The first happened in 1925, after Ueshiba had defeated a naval officer's bokken (wooden katana) attacks unarmed and without hurting the officer. Ueshiba then walked to his garden and had a spiritual awakening."
