The excavation of the ancient city of Zeugma, near the town of Nizip,[Turkey] in Gaziantep Province, has uncovered some remnants of sculptures, coins, mosaics and more. Most of this year’s work took place on a hill known as Belkıs Tepe. “We found some parts of cult-related sculptures on Belkıs Tepe. … Many remnants of sculptures were unearthed,” Görkay said.

This is the oldest known depiction of Achilles, here shown being hidden from Odysseus by his mother. She had hidden him in her palace among her ladies, dressed in women's clothing (hence the frilly dress he's wearing).Odysseus, ever being the wily one, had brought the finest weapons on his ship to the palace. And when Achilles stopped to admire them, his cover was blown. This mosaic was unearthed near Zeugma, Gaziantep, Turkey
