How to create a D.I.Y. Spooky Halloween Village

• Purchase inexpensive Thrifted Cottages or Christmas houses, I was lucky and scored some really cool pieces second hand. Ranged from $1 - $5 for the larger pieces.

• Spray Paint (I used black spray paint as a base paint to make them spooky) sprayed these outdoors.

• Acrylic Paint (I had on hand, to create the halloween details on some of the houses)

• Gold Rub and buff used on edges of homes (this really gave these pieces a custom look) also did this outside as the smell is very strong and use gloves while handling this product.

• Old boxes - these I used to add height to the village to create visual interest

• Black fabric - Used this to cover the boxes

• Purple Mini lights - this added the perfect amount of ambiance to the set up to Give it that spooky feeling. I just interwove them throughout the village set up. Some of the houses had slots to inside the lights inside as well.
