All photos of this object are taken with permission from the NMS world cultures department. This bronze silver-inlaid casket is probably Syro-Egyptian and from the 14th/15th centuries. It is one of a potential pair held within the NMS collections and will form part of my 2nd diss. chapter. it has a similar lack of human figures but contains a hare and several harpies within the ornamentation. this casket is in fantastic condition and is currently on display in the art from Iran exhibit.
