An ‘uçkur’ (sash / waist band), generally worn by women. From the Bursa region, ca. 1925. Adorned with gold work embroidery (in gold) and ‘tel kırma’ (in silver; motives are obtained by sticking narrow metallic strips through the fabric and folding them). Both techniques are ‘two-sided’ (identical on both sides). (Kavak Collection of Anatolian Textiles -Antwerpen/Belgium).
