Everyone loved this sunny, period-style kitchen last week! It features schoolhouse style pendant lights, white glass-fronted kitchen cabinets, a paneled dishwasher, and a wall mount kitchen sink faucet.
Around the turn of the century, companies such as Sears & Roebuck and Montgomery Ward sold homes out of catalogs. The houses were shipped to the home site, complete with instructions and numbered materials (including nails!), just as we might receive an assembly-required piece of furniture today. Most obvious is the header, which though primarily a flat board about 5 wide, is crowned by a minimal cap moulding that is returned at the sides.
