The Battle of Varna took place on November 10, 1444 near Varna in eastern Bulgaria. The Ottoman Army under Sultan Murad II defeated the Hungarian and Polish armies commanded by Władysław III of Poland (also King of Hungary) and John Hunyadi. It was the final battle of the Crusade of Varna.

Sublime Ottoman State - or the Ottoman Empire or the Turkish Empire existed from 1453 to 1923 when it became the Republic of Turkey. Depicted is the Battle of Varna 1444 in which Murad II defeated the Hungarian, Polish and Wallachian armies.
