Please click here to view this large! This picture was shot on a tripod with five exposures (-4..-2..0..+2..+4EV). I used Photomatix to create the HDR with tone mapping and detail enhanced. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. "That" Maple tree in the gardens in her full Fall splendor. There was a small line of photographers queuing up for this spot, so we had to share. I made three trips up to these gardens within the span of two weeks to try and hit the colors. It is always fun to watch the color shift around the garden because not everything hits its peak at the same time. This tree tends to run a bit later than all the other Japanese Maples in the garden, and the color lasts only about a week, so the window of…
