Middleham Castle, Wensleydale, North Yorkshire, was built by Robert Fitzrandolph, 3rd Lord of Middleham and Spennithorne, in 1190. In 1270 it came into the hands of the Neville family, the most notable member of which was Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, known to history as the "Kingmaker." Following Warwick's death in 1471, Richard, Duke of York, married Anne Neville, Warwick's younger daughter, and made Middleham his main home.
Henry Stafford 2nd Duke of Buckingham Buckingham was closely related to the royal families of England. Four of his near relations became King of England - his (Neville) first cousins once removed Edward IV and Richard III and second cousin Edward V, and his (Beaufort) second cousin Henry VII - while two became Queen consorts: his (Neville) second cousins Lady Anne Neville and Elizabeth of York.
Constance of York, Countess of Gloucester, 1374–1416. She later married Thomas le Despencer, Earl of Gloucester. Two children, Richard, Lord le Despencer, and Elizabeth le Despencer, died without issue, but their daughter Isabel le Despencer married twice, her second husband being Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. Their daughter, Anne Beauchamp, married Richard Neville (The Kingmaker), who thus became Earl of Warwick.

She and George Neville,1st and last Duke of Bedford were engaged.She married Henry VII Tudor,King of England,son of Edmund Tudor,1st Earl of Richmond and Lady Margaret Beaufort,on 18 January 1486 at Westminster Abbey,London,England.She died on 11 February 1503 at age 37 at Tower of London, in childbirth.
