even in America ... Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To thee do I cry, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petition, but in thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen. ...For such little ones' needs I pray.
A slice of bread is a miracle to a hungry child. (The most basic needs for sustenance - clean food, water, healthcare & shelter) are not being met for many in this world. Bless this child & others like her through donations to a food bank, an organization or with your time, energy and/or skills. Soup kitchens can always use an extra set of hands. #Gratitude for a family friend who serves abroad with #NursesWithoutBorders. May all be blessed for serving in whatever capacity they can! TY <3
What I notice is the type of food institutionalized hunger relief agencies offer is what I call, 'Dumbing Down Food'. The kind of food that makes one feel lethargic and listless, white flours, white rice, near dead produce; the list is long. We can develop direct relationships between the farms and the pantries. We can also come up with a plan for schools to 'opt out' of USDA food programs in order that our children be fed healthy foods.
