Antelope Canyon in Utah has 2 sections separated by 2 miles. Upper Antelope Canyon - the place where water runs through rocks (in the Navajo language) and the Lower Canyon (spiral rock arches). The canyon was formed by erosion of Navajo sandstone, mainly due to flash flooding and the slow wear of water and grains of sand rushing thru its steadily deepening passageways. Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.
