Fabulous fashion illustration by Joseph Christian Leyendecker - born in Germany in 1874 he came to America at the age of eight. Studying first at the Chicago Art Institute, he completed his formal artistic training at the Acadamie Julian in Paris. He painted 400 magazine covers between 1896 and 1950. He died 1951.
