AN IZNIK POLYCHROME POTTERY JUG, TURKEY, CIRCA 1575 with pyriform body and slightly flaring neck on an everted foot with an S-shaped handle attached at the rim and shoulder, with an underglaze cobalt blue ground and a design consisting of two rows of alternating saz leaves and prunus wreaths with green and relief red details and black outlines 19.3cm. height.

AN IZNIK POTTERY JUG  OTTOMAN TURKEY, CIRCA 1585  Of bulbous form on short foot, with slightly flairing mouth and simple loop handle, decorated in green, cobalt-blue and bole-red with black outlines, with dense design of split-palmettes forming lattice with vegetal motifs filling the interstices reserved on green and blue grounds, the base with band of stylized marbling, the waist with simple plait and green foliate fringing, the mouth with band of chain-motif,   9in. (22.5cm.) high
