Toy Toasters

Shown here are several of the metal toy toasters in my collection. The toy on the right side of the frame with a red electrical cord is a child's REAL toaster from the 1920s. The sides drop down to expose the heating element. Half slices of bread could be toasted on one side then turned over to toast the other side. Can you image a child's toy today that involved electricity and open heating elements? © Jack Wilgus

Why Banks Used To Give Out Toasters

They were cozy, regulated entities with few ways to compete. But maybe we should go back to that.
