Making your own salads in a jar is a great way to save money. By using vegetables from the garden or our CSA share, I’m keeping the grocery budget down. The cost of making lunch at home is practically nothing with vegetables from the garden, leftovers and a few staples from the cupboard I have food waiting to be eaten. Compare this to the cost of a meal-sized salad from a fast-food chain where you’ll spend at least $10 for something similar (but not as fresh or healthy).
