The day I realized newspaper was good for your compost, my life changed. OK that might be a bit dramatic, but anyone who subscribes to the local paper and gets the New York Times on Sunday knows that you're drowing in paper by weeks end. As a cook, I've always had too much green wet matter (from vegetable trimmings, egg shells and the like) for the compost. The ideal ratio of "green to brown" is 1 to 10. Brown being high carbon material such as dry leaves, twigs and grass. #com
