First trimester fatigue is my least favorite part of being pregnant. The afternoons hit me really hard, when my eyes feel heavier and heavier, until I’m literally ready to fall asleep by 5pm. The first trimester is usually the worst for fatigue because your body is dealing with the highest levels of HCG hormones flowing through the body. Because of these increased levels, the first trimester is full of nausea and extreme tiredness.
Ten days ago my water broke at 38 weeks pregnant. I was in shock, yet so, so happy I wasn’t going to be pregnant any more! NONE of my three other babies came even a day early. All of them made me wait until 40 weeks pregnant or more, so I wasn’t anticipating anything different with this baby, but there were a lot of things that were VERY different with this pregnancy. I’m thinking some of those differences have something to do with this baby arriving early and so healthy.
I love compound moves like these ones because you get more done at once. In my program, we do a lot of compound moves in addition to cardio, so you stay as fit as possible during your pregnancy. Here we are, about 8 weeks into my pregnancy, and I am struggling with morning/all day sickness. Morning sickness comes in many different levels. Mine is the low-grade, “I’m so hungover,” all-day sickness. I tend to get worse as the day goes on. Other’s actually throw up, and have severe sickness that requires medication. Because this is my fourth pregnancy, I’ve learned some tricks to survive the morning sickness stage, so I can semi-function as a decent parent to my other boys!

I am now on pregnancy number four, which is hard to believe. I personally dislike being pregnant, but I’v found that staying fit and active makes it so much easier! I was less active with my second pregnancy, and I can tell you I was more tired, gained more weight, and overall didn’t feel as good.

I’m going to go over all my tips on preventing swelling during pregnancy that have actually worked really well for me. My first three pregnancies were in the Seattle area, so I didn’t have to deal with humidity, but two of them were in the dead of summer. Now, my fourth pregnancy is in the dead of summer in the hot, humid Florida.
