Petiole Pinot Noir is one of those Trader Joe's wines that you might hesitate to buy because of the cheap price (about $10.00). I was shocked! This Oregon Pinot Noir was very nice and tasted better than some pricier bottles I've reviewed.

Petiole Pinot Noir 2018 - Good Value from Trader Joe's

The 2018 Petiole Pinot Noir is garnet red in the glass with aromas of ripe red berries, mild baking spices and herbs. On the palate, the wine feels smooth with cherry and black pepper, and then there's a kick of acidity mid-palate with soft tannins, and a dry, smooth and long finish.

Shannon Ridge Winery lies in the lesser known California wine region of Lake County. Located north of Napa Valley, the wines produced in the Lake County AVA are influenced by its high elevation, volcanic soils rich with minerals, and by Clear Lake which is California's largest inland body of water. This wine region has over 30 wineries with over 9,000 acres of vineyards.

Wine Review - Shannon Ridge Urgency Pinot Noir

Shannon Ridge Winery lies in the lesser known California wine region of Lake County. Located north of Napa Valley, the wines produced in the Lake County AVA are influenced by its high elevation, volcanic soils rich with minerals, and by Clear Lake which is California's largest inland body of water. This wine region has over 30 wineries with over 9,000 acres of vineyards.

It is rather ironic that that the finicky Pinot Noir chose the rugged hinterlands of Patagonia’s far southerly vineyards to show its unique South American expression.
